Banarasi weaving pairs a Katan silk ground with brocade in gold or silver zari, with each motif woven individually on the handloom.
They are woven from three-ply mulberry silk, and the border and body are interlocked by hand with the korvai technique.
Chanderi, organza and handloom cotton stay light on the shoulder and breathe through the heat.
Rich reds, maroons and golds in Kanjivaram or Banarasi silk are timeless for the ceremony; embroidered sarees and lehengas suit the reception.
Think about fabric, weight, occasion and colour, and check whether you need fall & pico or a stitched in-skirt.
